took a little break from work today to take some photos. New buds and vines and fresh air. Okay this will be my last post about spring, promise!
My room is in a groovy place right now and my cat is at optimum cuteness. spring sunshine and flowers get at me!
Just got my copy of The Workbook 2013 delivered today, featuring one of my children’s illustrations!
trying to push my self into the stop motion animation direction. More hands on, and a little less intimidating than traditional animation. Lady in the woods, here we go
A little sketch to help scare away the windy blowy spring weather and bring in the bike rides, tree buds and spring dresses
Spring is here ( technically… ) and I can feel new energy in the air…going to brush off the mental cobwebs and get to making lots of new art in the next few months. Client work has been dominating my time, which I feel incredibly lucky to have, but I’m overdue for personal artistic growth and expression!
I will be showing artwork at the Gladstone hotel in September, which I am SO excited about, and which will give me a chance to work hard at making something for myself. I’ll be working on small and large scale water-colour works and Im going to let my brain wander freely. Try to be more open and less controlled in the process. I’ll be updating my sketches and scribbles along with some finished work, as I make it.
HAPPY SPRING!
So excited to be sharing a beautiful short film that Element Eden shot at my home and studio this month! The film focuses on my inspirations as well as the process of creating artwork for Element Eden’s spring 2013 campaign. Thankyou to everyone at Element Eden, in particular Pasi Posti for shooting and editing, Chad Albert for Producing and of course Amber B Dianda for creating such beautiful photographs to work with! I can’t begin to tell you what a lovely experience it always is working with my Element family :)
I was asked to do an illustration of Brooklyn musician Toro Y moi for this months issue of Exclaim Magazine, advertising the release of his new album Anything in Return. Super catchy, dancey music. Like an intergalactic early morning after the club train ride. Or something like that :)
Very excited to be sharing a double page spread for Element eden that I did the artwork for on top of amazing Amber Dianda’s photography in the latest issue of NYLON magazine. eee!
